RARE! 1982 Topps Baseball Factory Sealed Complete Set in the Wood Grain Box

  

This is a 1982 Topps Baseball Factory Sealed Set in the"Wood Grain Box". The condition is "Brand New" as the set is still sealed and has never been opened. Rookie Card is in this set and probably in mint condition. I'm not sure if Topps gave this set special attention when producing it, similar to presentation sets. The set comes in a wood grain pattern box and factory wrapped in a clear plastic.

This set has a small tear in the plastic wrap by the long side of the box and several small tears of the plastic wrap. I have included multiple pictures of this set; you have to look carefully to notice the tears. "When you see something that you rarely find available and the opportunity presents itself, that's the time to pull the trigger", a paraphrased line from American Pickers that I agree with.

Some in the hobby tried to say these don't exist. Some tried to say they weren't sealed. Similar to the 1974 Topps set, these were available through a catalog. Some say JC Penney, others say Sears. I wrote Topps and they said they would only provide information on their current products. Dealers for years tried to tell me that this set didn't exist. I have cards from the 60's, 70's and 80's usually in pack fresh condition. I have sets from the 70's and 80's, with a few rare ones, including a beautiful open set of this one. It's a lot of fun finding stuff I didn't remember that I had and once in a while I find stuff I didn't know that I even owned it. My collection is quite large, just ask the wifey, she hates it; my cards took up way too much space.

I have/had cool cello and rack packs with rookie cards of stars on top, like Ozzie Smith on a'79 rack pack, same with Mattingly, Puckett, Ripken, and others. A few Tiffany sets left that are factory sealed. I have graded cards and ungraded, uncut sheets and more.
